We picked this hotel pretty much at random off of the Apeldoorn VVV tourism website because it was centrally located and cheap. We were very surprised to walk through a charming little residential neighborhood to a cute little bed and breakfast. Bathtub was deep and wonderful, room not tiny, beds were comfy, linens were nice, etc., etc.
We were asked what what time we wanted breakfast, and came down the next morning expecting to find a croissant and coffee at best. Instead we got this insane spread: a pot of coffee for my boyfriend, a pot of tea for me, a basket of assorted crossaints, rolls, and bread, two pots of fresh butter, two hard-boiled eggs in egg cups, a plate of thinly sliced cold meats and cheeses, as well as a sideboard which had an assortment of cornflakes, yogurt cups, little containers of jam (like a billion, from strawberry and blackcurrant to hazelnut and chocolate), a million kinds of tea, and even like 7 different kinds of candy sprinkles for you to sprinkle on buttered toast.
The place was better than its breakfast, but we were just kind of astounded by that, since we've been in Holland several months (granted, not staying in hotels) and that's by far the best breakfast we've had.
Ramon enthusiastically provided us with clear directions and maps, encouraged us to leave our bags and explore the nearby Paleis Het Loo before we left Apeldoorn (we'd gone for Apenheul and Kroller-Muller). Cannot recommend this place enough. Super clean, super friendly, family run, walking distance from everything. Way exceeded our expectations- especially for the price!
