What a lovely experience the Stenden University Hotel is! Built inside the university, it has the appearance and facilities of a 4 star hotel and its purpose is to provide a training environment for hospitality students. As a result the service is extremely friendly and attentive and it is superb value. Give these young people the opportunity to practise their skills and enjoy the very comfortable suroundings!

I have stayed at this hotel four times on business trips to Leeuwarden with colleagues since January 2007, and every time it has been a very pleasant experience. The staff is helpful and kind, and the rooms are clean, comfortable, roomy and they look nice. The en-suite bathrooms all have a shower, a bath and a toilet and are also roomy. The location, however, is not grand, but a 5-10 minute walk brings you to the centre of Leeuwarden. Definitely value for money!

The staff/students were professional, enthusiastic & helpful, making our stay very pleasant. The room & bathroom were emaculately decorated & clean. The beds were comfortable & the breakfast enjoyable. I'd be very happy to stay here again.

The only negative comment I can make is that the hotel rooms are a long walk through the university hallways from the hotel reception, making them difficult to access for anyone who may have mobility needs.

The staff is very nice, but the hotel layout is very strange. Check in is very far from the rooms. So if you want to visit your room after breakfast or such, you have to troll all over the school. Toilets are also quite a stroll from the restaurant. Rooms itself are fine, but the pillow was not very comfortable.
