My family and I stayed in Hotel de Jonge on Saturday, March 18 2006. The facilities are adequate and have some charm as they are in the centre of Assen. However, the amount of noise heard throughout the night is problematic for anyone who needs sleep. The street noise caused by several drunken parties until 3 a.m. was very audible and I suggest the hotel should look into more soundproofed windows.
On Sunday morning the maids started to vacuum the hallway directly outside our rooms at 7 a.m. Four hours of sleep is not enough for most of us, especially not when we pay to stay in a hotel.
