My partner and i are members of best western and having stayed in 13 of their hotels in the last 12 months. This is one of the best for customer service, food and location. The hotel is located in beautiful surroundings. You could be in the middle of nowhere. Which was ideal. However, you were within 2 miles of a beach. Fresh water east, and between 8-10 miles of tenby.
The exterior of the hotel is well maintained. There is 39 rooms, ample free parking. The facade is painted cream.
Upon checking in we were greated by a lady called Amy. She was lovely, she explained where the leisure facilities were, where breakfast was and dinner. Couldn't fault the warm welcome.
The inside was tastefully decorated to a Georgian theme. A beautiful stair well.
We were in room 15 on the first floor. This was in the west wing. , the room was clean and tidy. Smelt fresh, linen was crisp. The bathroom had plenty of toiletries. It was a double room, which was fair in size. There were facilities for making tea, coffee and hot chocolate. 2 bottles of water, and biscuits. No concerns here
We used the newly refurbished leisure facilites. The swimming pool was fair in size, changing rooms clean, but small. I'm assuming as its a small hotel there no need for a large changing room. There was a small pool for children. Children are only permitted at certain times.
There is a sauna, steam room, jacquzzi. All clean. Not too busy for a Sunday afternoon. The staff were really friendly and welcoming
We chose to have evening meal in the Michellen star hotel. The food was in conservatory. The drinks were reasonably priced. Vodka and diet coke £3.05 I usually pay around £3.55 upwards.
Staff courteous. It was busy. The staff wasn't phased by this. We had warm bread with olive oil basalm ic vinegar. Very tasty. Main course, I chose spicy bean burger with potato wedges and my partner had welsh beef burger. Very nice. The award is well deserved. We didn't have desserts too full.
Breakfast was in another part of the hotel. I preferred this location to the conservatory . Again staff really helpful.
The breakfast was buffet style, with choice of pains au chocolat, croissants, fruit juices, yoghurts, cereal. A choice of bread.
I tried the croissants and pan au chocolat. Very fresh..
There was menu where you could choose from a wide variety from welsh breakfast to eggs benedict.
Welsh breakfast was very nice, but it was warm. Still tasty though. Consisted of beans, bacon , sausage, black pudding, mushroom, egg, Lavar bread, grilled tomato.
The only negative was that there was a drilling noise from 10pm to 11pm. Rang reception around 10.45. They said that it would stop around 11 as the noise was from kitchen staff were cleaning fans in kitchen.. In fairness it did stop and when I spoke to Amy following day she was really apologetic. Amy did ask me if I wanted to speak to general manager and I was like no, just be mindful for future guests.
On the whole a positive stay, with excellent customer service, warm welcome, tastefully decorated rooms.
I will say that I complete a survey every time I visit a best western hotel.
Please visit and enjoy your stay. Will definitely visit again
