Had a wonderful stay at the Adler in early December. Our room overlooked the square with Christmas shops, lights and music. The room was immaculate and quiet in spite of the crowds outside. Breakfast was very good with excellent coffee and attentive service. Close to everything we wanted to see & do. Would definitely stay there again!

The perfect hotel for a leisure visit to Zurich, right in the middle of the old town (handy for the Xmas markets). Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Great atmosphere. A superb fondu restaurant attached. Slight downsides are the all-pervading smell of cheese and no car park.

we booked this hotel due to its central location. walked to the hotel from zurich train station(10 minutes)you could catch tram number 4 from the station if you prefer.room was very clean and tidy and the beds were very comfortable.we asked for a room in the back yard as previous visitors had mentioned the smell of cheese from the restaurant.the hotel was in a superb location with everything within walking distance(bars and good restaurants).the staff were first class and all reception staff spoke excellant english.we bought a 3 day travel pass at the airport which gave us access to trains,trams and a free boat trip on lake zurich(handy for nipping on and off trams in the rain)highly recommend zurich as a city to visit and to stay at hotel adler.

The hotel is situated only 5-10 minutes on foot from the Zurich Hauptbahnhof. The hotel is located down a narrow street, which is clearly signposted. The location offers many shops and a few Christmas Markets on the doorstep at the appropriate time of year. The breakfast is provided by the adjoining restaurant and offers a good selection. At night the restaurant does very good business, however, you will notice the smell of the cheese fondue if you are staying on the first floor (until you close your door). The rooms are not huge, but have been very well thought out so that they don't feel cramped at all. Plenty of room for hanging and luggage. The bathroom was nice and clean. The staff at the front desk were not overly welcoming, but they were helpful enough. Free Wifi is provided in the rooms and the hotel provides a computer and printer for guests to use. Zurich is not a cheap city, but you could do a lot worse than this hotel for your money.
