The Novotel in Zurich very clean and modern hotel. The hotel is located about 15minutes walk from the main train station (away from the centre of town). The staff were all very kind, helpful and spoke excellent english. Although I had booked a twin room, they were able to accommodate a third person in the room on a trundle bed. It was great having access to such nice a pool and fitness centre.

As usual, I travel with my family and prefer for a triple bed room. I found that Novotel has room with king bed and sofa-bed. In the afternoon they changed the sofa became bed. There is also free video game for my boy and a small playground with dolls and toys for my little daughter. Beside the restaurant there is small park with playground for kids.
The location is about 5 minutes walk from Hardbrucke underground station and shorter distance to Technopark tram station. There are some night pubs and cafes near the hotel as well as restaurants.

My wife and I stayed here over New Year's and found it to be a very nice, clean, easy to get to hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Coming in on an overnight flight from the US we were amazed our room was ready for us when we arrived at the hotel around 9am. That usually never happens! We were so happy for that! The hotel is located a block off the #4 tram line which runs into the downtown/old city area, takes about 15-20 mins. It is also only a few blocks from Bahnhof Hardbrucke which is a station on the airport line (S16). They've got free internet in their rooms (hard line connection) and wi-fi in the lobby. There's a play area for kids in the lobby too. Good value place to stay if exploring the city. We'd go back.

The Novotel was nice as you'd expect from a 4*. The prices, however, reflect Zurich in that they're unusually high for a European city. But that's certainly not unique to this hotel! We upgraded to an executive room during an Accor hotels 50% off sale and it was worth it. The hotel's in the Zurich West area which is about 10 minutes on the tram from the town centre. But it's a great area to explore as it's an up-and-coming ex-industrial area filled with warehouses turned into bars, restaurants & clubs. Be sure to stop by the Viadukt nearby at the tram stop Damwegg (and easily walkable from the hotel) which is like an indoor gourmet food market and restaurant and various other shops and cafes in railway arches nearby. We had a meal on new years eve at the Gnueressei restaurant in the Puls 5 building opposite the Novotel. Although pricey, they serve great food and wine if you really want to treat yourselves and go upmarket. Our hotel room had a sofa, Nespresso coffee machine and robe & slippers in addition to all the other things you'd expect. The minibar and unlimited pay-per-view movies were included in the price with the executive room so we made the most of that. There's a complicated arrangement for internet access. Free wifi in the lobby if you get a login code. In the rooms it's only free if you plug in the LAN cable (which we couldn't do as we'd brought our iPad). Wifi in the room needs a special login which you have to pay for after 30 min. However, there are 3 macs in the lobby that guests can use for free. There's also a lovely indoor pool & fitness room. Overall, the hotel was very good!
