We spent one night at the Valhalla after spending a week in Zermatt. It is very conveniently located by the main railroad station. A wonderful jumping old place for a walling tour of the old town, and very close to the Swiss National Museum and the Museum of Design. It was a perfect location for our one night stay and return to the Zurich airport to go home. We left our bags in the luggage room on our arrival while we walked the city (we could have checked into the room in 15-20 minutes, but we were eager to get out and see Zurich). The next day we left luggage there again while we visited the Swiss National Museum and the Museum of Design and walked the city again prior to catching the train to the airport. The hotel is basic, but clean, crisp, recently updated and a good value. The beds were comfortable and we had requested a river view, which we were given, and despite being over the street and tram stops our room was quiet. The windows block out all the noise. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The lights by the bed were great; we could turn on and off the room lights from either side of the bed, each side a reading light, but also a focused, high intensity reading light, so as not to both your companion if they wish to sleep. The faucet in the sink was oversized for the sink, making shaving difficult, and the towels were thin. Otherwise it was exactly what we were looking for, for our 24 hours in Zurich. Would definitely stay again if passing through Zurich.
Room Tip: Ask for a river view
