Stayed at Walhalla Hotel for 2 nights in early mid May. From the train station, you can actually walk to the far end of the main area, and before going outside, hang an immediately left and walk along the far track until you can't stay inside any longer and there will be a crosswalk directly to your right. Cross here and the hotel is straight ahead on the next block. This inside passage is critical information when it's raining outside! The hotel itself is very clean and appears to have undergone a remodel pretty recently (especially the breakfast service area and dining room). 3 of us shared a room, but the was plenty of space with a single bed in the room immediately inside the door, then another double bed in the next main section of the room with a bathroom in between the 2 sections. The breakfast (included in the room rate) was excellent and the staff was very accommodating to ensure that there was never a shortage of any given item each morning. There was a computer in the lobby for guests to use, but it was a pay by the minute (or minutes) and was not working for the duration of my visit. Starbucks was in the same building, so free wi-fi could be had there. 2 stairwells serve the upper rooms as well as the tiny elevator. A little noisy at night due to the streetcar (tram) running directly in front of the hotel and the loudspeakers at the train station announcing arrivals/departures, but it was not overbearing (and this was with the windows open). The front desk staff seemed to be a little disorganized and slow to assist (seemed pre-occupied with administrative work behind the desk vs. being customer oriented), but I've had much worse service at other places, this is just a minor feedback point for the hotel to improve upon. Areas in close proximity to train stations can be less desirable and a bit seedy, however, I did not get that feeling here at all and would definitely recommend it to others.
