The hotel Bristol is your average 2-3 star European hotel. The ameneties are adequate but nothing to write home about. The decor is dated and the bathrooms are small and narrow but the employees and location make up for any downfalls.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for two nights on February 6th and 7th. It was the last two nights of our two week European adventure. The location was perfect because it is a five minute stroll to Zurich's old town that has great shops and restaurants. To top it off, it is about a five minute walk to the main train station as well.

The breakfast was included and it is the standard Swiss: Yogurt, fruit, bread, meats, cheeses, juice, milk and coffee. It was a slightly lower quality than the breakfasts we had experience in other Swiss locations: Interlaken, Grindelwald, and Lucerne.

All in all, it was fine. I'd stay again.

Located well near the old town and not to far from railway station.

This is a central budget style hotel, with slightly more than budget prices. It is close to the main railway station - a short cut gets you there in less than 5 minutes. The reception staff are friendly and efficient - with as little bureaucratic processes as are allowed in Switzerland. The rooms are clean, if small and adequately furnished. The breakfast is fine - reasonable selection for the hotel level. Restaurants are located a short 5-10 minute walk away and there is a good selection.

It is a decent hotel with simple but sweet arrangement. We were unlucky to get a room which was in the top floor and had a staircase running right over it, reducing our walking space. The people at reception were friendly and professional. Breakfast area was again decent though not as great as we saw in NH Luzern, Lucerne or Hotel Splendid, Interlaken. Again that may be due to the cost limitations of a big city like Zurich as compared to smaller cities/towns.

Location is a plus which ironically gave us the biggest pain as we set our location search, the first day. I advise that since there is a possibility of getting lost in the lanes, contact the Hotel people on the best route to reach them.

At the end, memories of stay there get me a smile on my face.
