When you arrive, the front of the hotel and the lobby area are kind of depressing, but the warm welcome and professionnal service at reception makes you already feel at home. The single room was small but perfect for business use. Large single bed with duvet and comfortable pillows (not an old ugly and dirty blanket like often in this range of hotel). Several plugs (and they lend you adaptors), large bathroom with several places to put your stuff. And very important detail : it was EXTREMELY CLEAN, which is really enjoyable compared to many hotels of even much higher range. During the day it's a litlle noisy with the road passing by, but at night it's really more than fine. No flat screen TV, but at least you receive with perfect reception 4 channels in French. Free wifi with perfect signal. And the tram to go to the center city is just across from the hotel...so convenient. Well, if you have a tight budget and need a place to stay in Zurich do not hesitate a second. However I don't recommend this place for romantic stay...

Located right across the street from the tram (sounds like distant thunder, not an issue) and maybe 10 minutes from ETH, 15 minutes downtown and 25 minutes to the airport. Have to love the trains, exactly on time and easy to navigate. Hotel sells a day pass for 8.20 CHF. From airport, got CHF from machine in adjacent shopping mall bank, and took #10 tram using 'Zurich' option ticket at machine. Even possible to do jetlagged. On way back get off at Flughafen, second stop from end of the line. There's a supermarket 'COOP' downtown by the main rail station Hauptbahnhof. A nice walk straight into city center downhill about a mile, where you can continue along the clean, pleasant river and occasionally encounter a slacker teen rebelling against the extraordinary standard of living here.

Hotel rooms are pretty small, but efficient, and with windows closed, quiet. I was on 5th floor. Breakfast included, and is decent. Internet free and it worked well. Getting in and out of the tub/shower you need to watch your balance. They wash your towels even if you follow their instructions not to by placing them on the rack. Across the street beyond the tram there is a really nice park with gravel running trails, landscaping and ponds. A great place to escape, not overcrowded. All hotels seem expensive, this one is not cheap but is better than most alternatives. Staff is fine. I'd return.

This is a very nice hotel with reasonable prices and freindly staff located next to the university of Zurich.
The rooms on the fifth floor are extremly comfortable and spacy.
I highly recommend it.

The rooms were surprisingly clean and modern, but no AC in August means VERY hot. Even with a fan and open windows, I had trouble sleeping. The Hotel is well located as mentioned in prior posts, and it is priced well.

The receptionist who check us in was not overly welcoming, but she was nice. The receptionist who checked us out, however, was very rude (dark hair in pony tail). She made fun of our apparently idiotic questions about Tram prices and tickets -- in front of other guests. I'm sorry, but not everybody grows up in a city. This was my first time to Europe, first time to Switzerland, and second time to a large city. I'm sure I asked many "stupid" questions, but some things are just not obvious to foreign eyes. She definitely could have employed a bit more tolerance.

Overall, good for a one-night stay in a cool month.
