This hotel was our last stopover stay at Zurich before the end of our Swiss vacation. Having stayed at Ibis in other counties such as Korea etc gave me confidence in booking this business hotel.
Of coz we knew this is a minimal business hotel so we did not expect anything grandiose. We booked a non-smoking room which was said on the sign of the door, but instead we were given a room that smelled full of smoke, like a confined room at a bar......upset and called the front desk about the smell problem, they said they would give us another room but instead of bringing the key to our room, they asked us to make a long round-trip back and forth to the reception and the the 2nd room.
Anyway, smoke problem was solved in the 2nd room and the interior decor was looking as if the pics posted on the website. But came to the tiny bathroom, the stand-up shower area didn't have any slide door, only a flimsy shower curtain. The shower was so small that you either keep bumping into the tap or the curtain can stick on your skin.....simply annoying and unhygienic.
The most horrific part was a huge spider was found in the corner of the bathroom (see pic), we didn't kill it but use a plastic cup to cover it so cleaner can see for themselves....
Would I stay here in the future? Absolutely not! I have doubt in staying at other Ibis premises in the future....
