Really nice location, good service offered, but not always available as expected.
e.c. offered printer in lobby does not work, or: offer of service desk to have a quiet place for a business meeting was canceled by management.

Have stayed at Krone on and off over 10 years. It's functional and understated and perhaps some rooms are a little small, but the quality, service, food and ambience are really good, and the Staff are really wonderful - always attentative, friendly and flexible. I always look forward to going to the Krone and have never been disappointed in fact always leave with a real feel good factor.

Price is considerably affordable for the quality at Zurich. Location is good, a few stops from the train station and convenient especially with the frequent bus schedules in Zurich. Stayed in a single room, nice and modern with a pretty spacious shower area. Good stay.

I've stayed here 3 or 4 times now for business. Zurich is really expensive, and Unterstrass usually comes up the cheapest acceptable hotel option. I can expense my hotel, so I don't have to suffer too much. I could also expense a more expensive place, but I stay here anyway because I like the location, the rooms, and the company is happy when I keep costs low. It's probably half the price of other similar places I've stayed in Zurich. It's quite a hike up the hill from the rail station, so take the tram. It's just a few stops and it runs frequently. The tram system in Zurich gets you pretty much anywhere quickly.

One thing to watch for that I've mentioned in reviews of other Swiss hotels - air conditioning. The Swiss don't seem to do AC. Even some of the elite banks don't even provide AC in their offices. I've paid $600/night for hotels in Switzerland and still had no AC. If you don't like that, go visit another country.

This hotel is an exception because they actually seem to have AC in most, presumably all, of the rooms. I had one room where it leaked a lot during a heat wave, and another where it was minimally effective (probably because I was on the top floor) but I didn't care. I was just happy to have AC in Switzerland.
