The Marriott in Zurich is one of our favorite hotels in Switzerland. The location is perfect for the train station. We always walk to the hotel. Our room was very nice as always. The breakfast was included in our room rate and it is fabulous. One of the reasons we stay here. They have two restaurants. One is called the White Elephant which is tai food and the other offers swiss cuisine. Both restaurants are excellent. We take the tram to the Bahnhofstrasse, which is a great place to shop. The hotel is pricey but we like it.

The hotel is away from the more pricier hotels found closer to Lake Zurichee, but getting to action areas is only a short tram ride - you can even walk (like I did) along the quays. The hotel and its rooms are small (by U.S. Marriott hotels), but comfortable. Service is great. I was slightly bothered by the rather rough-looking crowd I passed when I took a walk along the canal toward the bridge on the tip of Plazspitz, but other than that, the hotel is in a beautiful location close to parks where the flowers were blooming.

It' located within easy (10 min) walking distance of the train station, the main shopping street and Old Town. The rooms were decent size with the usual, very comfortable Marriott beds. The breakfast and drinks in the executive lounge were good and the service was excellent.

I didn't stay in the hotel we only went there for a drink so the rooms may well be large and comfortable but for the price it's charges the hotel definitely wasn't what I expected definitely not 4 star. My immediate impression was a dated motel like interior of a 2.5 star hotel!
