The hotel has more like a guest house feel to it. Did not see another guest in 24 hours.

Location is great for the gay bars/club and for walking around Zurich old town.

The lobby is basic to say the least. There are no amenities at the hotel at all. Breakfast is served on a tray in the room.

Rooms are dated but functional. Bathroom was very tired looking.

Overall I don't think zürich has a great choice of affordable hotels so g hotel was a good choice for one night of clubbing. I would stay here again simply for its location to the gay club but it certainly is basic.

I really mean it when saying those words. The lounge bar below and the midtown streets are so annoying. I booked a week stay in this hotel last couple of weeks, and finally found out a way to have a nice trip in this part of Zurich – enjoying nightlife. It was so funny that I turned my time table upside down, I slept all day and woke up to join the restaurants and bars at night. I have been to Zurich three times so it was so amazing knowing another busy Zurich at night apart from its quiet in daylight. I think my review might be useful for those who want to see a different attractive side of Zurich instead of just go up here and complaining about the noise when nights come, lol.

I would recommended this hotel since it is cheap and has a great location in midtown. And if you want to rent such a place in midtown it is a “noise-concern approval” you must have in mind. I booked a 3 nights stay last week in Golden Schwert hotel. The streets and the coffee bar below was noisy for sure. They also gave us ear plugs for a better sleep but I still could here the “BOM BOM” from the bass., I know they did it just to showing that they got some efforts of fixing up the situation. I used to stay in midtown of Bristol and it was far more worst than this place so I got used to it on the second night and slept myself tight. The room is clean with oldy furniture and cozy bed with well-equipped bathroom. However, I’d prefer a European restaurant to that hellish noisy clubs below…

Hotel was centrally located and relatively cheap for Zuerich, but in retrospect would have happily spent more in order to get any sleep. Stayed in room 49, where we could play 'guess the song' for the 2 clubs downstairs and the rock and roll/jazz bar across the narrow street. The hotel provides earplugs, presumably as a joke as they afford no respite from the bass. I slept for 2 hours after 7am, when the music stopped.
We were told the hotel had parking facilities, but discovered on arrival that they were full, cue dragging suitcases through the cobbled streets of Zuerich from the nearest multistorey.
We could easily discern the last 3 colour schemes our room and bathroom had been subjected to, as both tiles, walls and radiators were badly chipped. Room was otherwise clean, and if you are looking for a more nocturnal trip, this might not be the worst venue in the world, but it was certainly the most miserable night I've ever spent in any hotel.
