Good quality hotel with great views. Room was moderately well furnished. Bed was firm and pillows were of reasonable size and firmness. Like most hotels in Zug, the double room was simply two twin beds pushed together.
Nice highlights throughout - granite luggage counter in the room and granite in the bathroom. Full sized bathtub.
An unfortunate trend in hotels is mirrored in this establishment - big bottles combined of shampoo/body wash that don't do either well. Hair dryer, but no trouser press or in-room ironing facilities.
The window had hard, lightproof shutters that rolled down, keeping out noise and light, very nice. Temperature in December was OK, but I did not see any signs of an air conditioner, so inquire before you book a room in the hot, humid summer. There is also a nice balcony attached to every room.
Overpriced wireless internet (12 CHF for two hours).
Staff were pleasant, but not terribly engaged.
Attached restaurant was decent, but selection was limited, and price was high, even by Zug standards. Walking or taking a taxi into town is a better bet.
Hotel is located outside of downtown. Not an easy walk, and bus service is only every 30 minutes. Bus ride is about 10 minutes to downtown, or a taxi takes less than five. However, this hillside location does provide a wonderful view of the lake and the mountains.
Breakfast was uninspired. Standard fare, but no milk for the cereal, limited selection of breads, boring coffee, etc.
Television was limited - no English channels, not even CNN or BBC.
Overall, a good night sleep, pleasantly decorated room, but location is a downside.
