Coming from a hospitality background i am quiet lenient when it comes to bad service since i had to work from kitchen and waiter upwards. When it came to Montreux Palace, I had my friends staying here with their relatives. The first day when i drove up to the hotel, it took me 6 or 7 laps to find a parking spot. When, as i thought, i found one infront of the hotel, i had the reception manager cone my car to ensure that he can talk to me after. When i got back in the car with a friend, the manager decided to tell me off and threaten me with the police for parking apparently where i was not supposed to (there was no indication of any sort) and even after i told that we are customers of the bar and we had rooms at the hotel. After this 5 minute provocative discussion they finally removed the cones ans let me go. On the second day, i gave my parking keys to the parking service. 2 minutes after i sat down in the lobby to have a drink, i had the parking assistant come up to me to ask me to repark my car 200 meters from the hotel. I believe that given the fact that he saw that i had a flexi cast and am the customer of the hotel, they could have solved this issue themselves especially in a 5* Fairmont hotel. Finally, in the evening i had the parking assistant tell me that the parking is reserved for a booking and i should once again do a 200 meter dash to the near by parking. To wrap things up, my friends informed me that i became the main subject of discussion for the front office as soon as i would leave the door. Given the fact that i didn't spend more than 2 hours in 2 days at this hotel i hated the service experience of the front office and parking staff.
