We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Rene Capt for a week and would like to say thank you for everything. It is normal for people to complain when things are not good but rare to say thank you. We had a wonderful week, the food was outstanding and all the staff extremely helpful and pleasant. We would like to thank specially the staff at the reception as well as the restaurant manager. All the staff deserve a big thank you but these people went the extas mile to make our stay memorable. We hope we can come back one day as we enjoyed our week so much.

We stayed in a triple room with a balcony that overlooked the lake. The view was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel itself is a bit outdated. Overall, if you want a lakeview hotel without paying a ton of money - this is a good choice. It is a far walk from the train station - I recommend getting a taxi.

We booked two rooms here as we are a family with 3 teenagers. Unfortunately one of the rooms was on the lower ground floor which was very stuffy and mouldy smelling. We couldn't leave windows open due to an abundance of mosquitoes. The other room on the 2nd floor was much better with a partial view of the lake. Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. We requested lake view rooms however the hotel said it depended on availability on arrival. That was very disappointing. The view from the hotel's terrace was simply stunning. Gorgeous lake and mountain views. Breakfast was a wonderful spread of fruit, cereals, breads, rolls, pastries, cold meats, cheeses, eggs and bacon.

We booked this hotel for our wedding trip to Switzerland. Based on some of the reviews, we booked a room with a view of the lake. The room was exactly as pictured on the hotel's website. It was clean and comfortable and the view was spectacular. When we had the balcony doors open, we could hear the trains, but it was not loud enough to wake us. I could certainy understand that if you booked a room with a mountain view the noise from the train would be louder as the tracks are across the street. We would stay here again if we return to Montreux.
