Our recent trip through Switzerland was largely unplanned, as I wanted to have flexibility to stay wherever we ended up being on any given day. We decided to stay in Montreux for the night but were having little luck finding good accommodation on the main road at a reasonable rate. We headed up the hill into the old city and stumbled along Tralala. I was pleasantly surprised to find this cute little place was reasonably priced and was also really friendly to walk-in bookings such as myself.
Once I'd settled the paperwork, the hotel manager greeted us with a complimentary welcome drink and then gave us some recommendations for dinner, as well as info and a discount entry pass to the nearby Chateau Chillon.
I really liked the very unique, funky style of the hotel and the manager talked us through the decorating concept and the story behind the hotel's name. The space-age light fittings and chairs in the lobby were particularly fun, and the mounted photos throughout were amazing.
The room was really lovely and spacious. We stayed in a 'large and lovely' room (as termed on their website) which was very comfortable and had a big bath to soak in. The bed was soft and inviting, and the room facilities were great (TV, hanging space, bag rack, desk, climate control).
Breakfast was basic but yummy, with everything you need to get started for the day.
Overall, excellent value for money and a great little find in a very cute part of the world.
