A very noisy hotel (day and night): located beside a busy main road and a busy railway, but: earplugs are supplied!!!!!

I stayed here for 4 nights with my husband as part of the 4 lakes Golden Pass Swiss Tour with Thomson Lakes & Mountain holidays in June 2003. The hotel is clean and the management very friendly. The views of Lake Geneva are nice. However, the location of the hotel is not good! It is beside a very busy main road with fast moving traffic and no pedestrian crossing, and you need to cross the road to get anywhere including the train station and the boat station. It is also beside the railway running from Montreux to Lausanne which has trains running throughout the night - a very noisy hotel - even with the complementary earplugs that were supplied by the hotel in each bedroom !! It is located about 1 km from the village of Cully and the nearest boat station. Might have been just tolerable if we'd had our own transport, but a bad choice if you have to rely on public transport.

The hotel is situated right on the highway overlooking the railway. The noise is terrible - you cannot sleep with windows open. Bathroom smells. The only good news is air condition.
