“DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This is without doubt one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. It has only been a month since we have returned to real life and already we are contemplating how quickly we can return. From start to finish the experience was special. We were collected by the Omnia electric car from the train station and entered what looked to us like the Bat Cave (an in mountain entrance to the hotel - super cool.) We stayed in a corner room with a stunning view of the town. Our room was a perfect size with all you would expect, lovely toiletries, fluffy robes etc and a few things you would't including a huge jar or shortbreads and cookies which seemed to be constantly full. Each day we started with a wonderful breakfast with an extensive and luxurious buffet which was available all morning. The relaxation area provided what I'm sure is the best view of the Matterhorn from a pool and jacuzzi. None of the facilities is ever crowded, even though we were there during peak season. Every single restaurant recommendation we were given by the young reception staff was somewhere we would definitely return to. The hotel is intimate so staff know you by name and the service we received from the General Manager to the waiters in the restaurant was faultless.

Location for us was perfect - 1 min to restaurants, bars, shops but because of its position on the cliff there was no town noise.

As a side note we were lucky enough to stay over NYE and we participated in the hotel event. This included a Vintage Champagne Reception and then a spectacular meal at their number one ranked (on tripadvisor) restaurant. The evening finished with more champagne on the terrace to watch the town firework display and then a late night party in their new nightclub/bar "The Cavern". It ranks as one of the all time best New Years Eves.

There is nothing negative or even constructive I could say about this hotel. It has got it right!!!!!

Go as soon as you can for as long as you can.

Room Tip: Pretty sure all the rooms would be excellent - we were in a corner room with a view of the town - st...

“Wow!!!”

Not the first time and certainly not the last time that we (2 adults, 1 kid) would stay at The Omnia. If you think a Zermatt Christmas holiday has to be "rustique" and Swiss wine is not even good enough for cooking, go to The Omnia and think again.

The style: Modern yet comfortable with everything you can possibly want being available during your stay. And if it isn't in your room/hotel when you arrive, ask for it and you have it within the hour.

The staff: Extremely friendly, motivated, helpful and personal. It is rare to be greeted by name at the breakfast table on the first morning, especially during high season. Whether you are wondering where to ski today, what to do for lunch, apre-ski, after-dinner...just ask.

The restaurant: We originally wanted to have no more than 1 or 2 dinners during our one week stay in the hotel restaurant...instead we ended up eating out only once! The menu is full of surprises with various tastes and influences... or if you want something simple and off the menu, just ask for it...or tell the chef the night before that you would like to have something special...and you will get your surprise menu the next day. The wine list is one of the best we have come across in Switzerland, but don't worry about it being too long...just let Martin choose something for you and you will not leave disappointed.

The lounge: Nice lounge to enjoy a tea or pre-dinner drink or get some work done between skiing and dinner.

The bar (cavern): Latest addition to the hotel, perfectly matching its modern style with a truly special location in a candle-lit cave with fresh spring water under the glass floor - just cool!
The rooms: Modern, comfortable, spacious, sunny, in perfect condition...what else can you ask for.

The spa/wellness: It's not a spa hotel, but has everything you want to relax after a long day on the slopes, be it the Jacuzzi outside, the indoor/outdoor pool, the deck chairs facing the mountains, the various sauna/steam rooms etc. Again, the focus on the best equipment and the right staff makes all the difference.

In summary: It is rare to find a place so enthusiastic about what they are doing. You feel like being at home, only with a lot more service. We will certainly be back shortly.

“Hospitality at its best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Stayed for two nights, would have loved to stay much longer.
Best in class service, great restaurant and beautiful materials
throughout the hotel and spa. Watching the Matterhorn from
the outside jacuzzi during sunrise is magic!
As a Swiss, I hate to say that in Switzerland, there are not many
places offering such a high and personal level of service and hospitality.
Thanks for making our stay special - we'll be back!

“Great service and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We stayed just for one night in December, but hope to be back. The service was excellent, not over the top, just friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms are lovely, and the pool and spa area are really special... the jacuzzi looks up at the Matterhorn. And a special word about the restaurant: excellent food at, for Switzerland, really quite reasonable prices. And the breakfast was also fantastic.
