Not the first time and certainly not the last time that we (2 adults, 1 kid) would stay at The Omnia. If you think a Zermatt Christmas holiday has to be "rustique" and Swiss wine is not even good enough for cooking, go to The Omnia and think again.
The style: Modern yet comfortable with everything you can possibly want being available during your stay. And if it isn't in your room/hotel when you arrive, ask for it and you have it within the hour.
The staff: Extremely friendly, motivated, helpful and personal. It is rare to be greeted by name at the breakfast table on the first morning, especially during high season. Whether you are wondering where to ski today, what to do for lunch, apre-ski, after-dinner...just ask.
The restaurant: We originally wanted to have no more than 1 or 2 dinners during our one week stay in the hotel restaurant...instead we ended up eating out only once! The menu is full of surprises with various tastes and influences... or if you want something simple and off the menu, just ask for it...or tell the chef the night before that you would like to have something special...and you will get your surprise menu the next day. The wine list is one of the best we have come across in Switzerland, but don't worry about it being too long...just let Martin choose something for you and you will not leave disappointed.
The lounge: Nice lounge to enjoy a tea or pre-dinner drink or get some work done between skiing and dinner.
The bar (cavern): Latest addition to the hotel, perfectly matching its modern style with a truly special location in a candle-lit cave with fresh spring water under the glass floor - just cool!
The rooms: Modern, comfortable, spacious, sunny, in perfect condition...what else can you ask for.
The spa/wellness: It's not a spa hotel, but has everything you want to relax after a long day on the slopes, be it the Jacuzzi outside, the indoor/outdoor pool, the deck chairs facing the mountains, the various sauna/steam rooms etc. Again, the focus on the best equipment and the right staff makes all the difference.
In summary: It is rare to find a place so enthusiastic about what they are doing. You feel like being at home, only with a lot more service. We will certainly be back shortly.
