A while since we were here but have always meant to put in a good review for this place and having recently booked to go back (with parents), it seemed like an opportune moment. Beautiful clean hotel, fabulous breakfasts, lovely freindly staff (helped as much as they could when BA lost one of our bags!), nice spa/wellness area - and of course the location is the icing on the cake. Cannot wait to go back this year!

This hotel is everything it holds itself out to be. Dramatic, gorgeous and gracious, the architecture and décor are stunning down to the smallest detail. The owners are equally elegant and affable. You emerge into the lobby from a glass elevator that you board at the end of a long dark tunnel. The views are, of course, dominated by the Matterhorn, but every window offers a different frame which showcases the unique personality of the peak. The studio-loft is extraordinary. Believe it or not, the photos and brochure do not do this hotel justice. It is an experience in and of itself. If you have the money, this is the place to stay in Zermatt. The hotel most definitely lives up to its price.

Beside the fact of this amazing 'silence' in Zermatt due to the restriction of Automobiles of any kind, the hotel is located outside of the center of Zermatt. Being solely 10 minutes walk to the train station, the location adds a lot of value. Beside the fact of being in close walking distance to the gondola, one is bit away from the 'mass' of people walking around Zermatt. The hotel is very charming, has lovely and modern furnished spacious rooms, and offers a very warm atmosphere. The owners as well as the staff are very much after ones well-being and the spa allows to relax. It has been our second time in the Coeur des Alpes and wont be the last one. Dont miss out having a glass of Champagne in the outside wirlpool whilst looking at the Matterhorn!

Upon arrival at Coeur Des Alpes we were greeted and shown to our room by a very friendly receptionist. We had booked the Matterhorn view suite which was roomy and the view stunning. There was an open bathtub in the bedroom which looked really nice but as it turned out not practical at all!!! I also didn't like the fact that there was no TV in the bedroom and there were no instructions about how to switch on the TV in the living room. The swimming pool looks very spectacular from the glass floor of the foyer but in reality is a very big bath tub. Sauna and hammam were great, as well as the tranquility room. The owners are extra friendly and nice and will always come say goodmorning during breakfast or ask you if there is anything they can do. The breakfast area was superb and breakfast itself very good quality and variety. Loved all the different kinds of Swiss cheese!!! The receptionist was very eager to make dinner reservations for us and recommended excellent restaurants. The hotes is 5 minutes on foot from the village center but it looked like a difficult walk with ski equipment.
Don't get me wrong.... I liked it very much,it was a very romantic experience but for the price of a 5 star hotel it was dissapointing to find just a luxurious bed and breakfast.
