Nice and quiet hotel with a enjoyable wellness area and a rich breakfest buffet.

We stayed for 9 nights,the room was excelent,clean and well laid out. The room very quiet.The views of the mountains excellent especially in the morning The staff could not do enough,the service was excellent. The food was of good quality and were willing to cook alternatives.The owners were very friendly and even though I was the only one who required the wellness suite as it was out of their normal winter season it was put on for me each day when we returned from our walking trips.It was a perfect hotel for relaxation and walking.

We stayed for a week in Feb 2008. This is a very, very nice hotel. Nice large swimming pool with spa features. Sauna area has a number of small private rooms, all nicely lit and clean.
The sauna area also has masseurs and a choice of massages and treatments.
We stayed half board and the food and service was second to none.
Although the daily menu only had one dish listed, they could always provide at least two alternatives, and were happy to do so.
Breakfast was also extensive and of good quality.
The staff were all very pleasant, and really seemed to enjoy being of service.
Our room, (41) a deluxe double, was big, with a balcony and a large bathroom. It even had a fleeting view of the peak of the Matterhorn.
In the mornings, taxis are laid on to the three lifts at 15 minute intervals. These are free. They also have a ski pass machine in reception, so no queueing!
The boot room was secure, large enough and had heaters for the boots.
The restaurant is non-smoking, although the bar area is not.
All in all, highly recommended.

My husband and I along with our friends just got back from a week long stay at Hotel Sonne Zermatt. We had a fantastic time. Leo and Kathy and their staff were wonderful. Our rooms were comfortable and well equipped. The food was very well presented, always the right temperature, and there was good variety. The service was the best we have had at a hotel and everyone was so nice. Overall, we loved it and hope to be back soon!
