“Another brilliant week”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

In all my travels around the world over 40 years this is my very favourite hotel. we have stayed there with friends about 8 times now and have hardly had a single negative experience. Only thing I might find fault with is the temperature which tends to be on the warm side and leaves one very dehydrated (but this could also be the volume of wine we get through each night). All the facilities are absolutely first class and the staf make a real and concerted effort to make sure everything is done to make your stay one of luxury and enjoyment.

“A very special hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

If you're a family, a couple or just single and want to spend a real Christmas in a very special hotel with wonderful staff, conveniently located in a cute town, this is the place! If you want to make friends or just keep to yourself, do some skiing or just shopping, walking through the snow or enjoy the hotel's facilities (pool & spa & restaurants, bar, tea-room), this is it. The atmosphere is casual (european casual!) & international and incredibly friendly.
Rooms are quiet, bathroom perfect, room service is excellent and food outstanding.
Don't hesitate, book now!

“comfortable and diligent service, great food”

This hotel should be five star, not four: it is probably only let down by technicalities of the Swiss rating system. The manager, Hans, is very diligent. He never seems to sleep, always checking that guests are happy from breakfast till dinner. The food is superb – the breakfasts are so big that you don't want lunch; dinner is a multiple-course affair, with several themed nights each week. (Don't fret – this isn't tacky themed nights). Most of the guests were Germans, who have high standards for service. Despite several eccentric requests, the staff were always able to deliver. Room was spacious and comfortable. Spa and pool very smart indeed – tastefully designed with panoramic view of the Alps. Will definitely return to this wonderful hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms without Matterhorn view are much cheaper but still quiet and aren't overlooked by neighbou...

the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Food is out of this world.

Room Tip: if you can afford it, book a room with a view of the matterhorn.

“Even better than last time !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

I have been many times to the Beau Site, it is so unique in every way. The position is very hard to beat as it is so convenient for the main street and for the lifts as you can walk to both the Sunnegga and the Gornergrat stations. There is a bus stop at the end of the street, which is only 100m or so form the hotel.

I stayed in a large suite in the chalet annex, which had a huge bathroom, just the way i like it, with a shower with a very large shower head so you enjoy the best showers ever and a bath.

The room has speakers everywhere and even in the bathroom so you can listen to the news or whatever whilst in the bath.

Massive TV and a loverly balcony in front of a glass wall at the end of the suite so you get not just Matterhorn views but also over Zermatt - a picturesque panorama !

The service was as good as it has ever been and everything completely organised - by the very friendly, caring staff.

Once again the food impresses, with a revised menu and some variations on the Gala and Grill evenings.

They have build new kitchens and in the breakfast room, there is now a servery from the kitchen which now offers freshly cooked eggs in all ways possible, complete with your own selection of fillings. There is also the new breakfast counters which are very impressive and keep the food properly chilled now but then this was not an issue previously.

Some great cake / biscuits one morning which were fantastic - I wish they would serve these all the time !

The spa area has some new additions, mainly the beauty area but someone else will no doubt write about these, but the entrance looks very impressive.

The only down side is the occasional smoking in the bar area, which can ruin the pleasure of sitting there. Sooner or later this will be stamped out but not soon enough.

I am always amazed that some guests do not take advantage of the half board as the meals are just so good, I can not imagine why you would want to eat anywhere else, but that is their choice.

It is the best place to be in the ski season, but then again, may be I am biased - but only because i have stayed in other hotels in Zermatt and elsewhere, so i can make the comparison.

The hotel, like the room and the restaurants is spotlessly clean.

The staff - all of them - are very friendly, cheerful and go a long way to make your stay with them the best they can. This is a hotel where NOTHING is too much trouble.

However, three guests, one of whom is a Michelin grade chef also commented how good the food is. They dined with us on the grill night !

This time we also had the best skiing conditions in a very long time too - deep powder off piste with a guide for the whole week !

Room Tip: Book now to avoid disappointment next year !
