We returned again for New Year's period, although we only had time for 2 nights. The owners remembered vivid details of us from our prior year visit. This focus on their guests really demonstrates their commitment to a great experience, more than the dollar signs.

The room was right behind reception so there were a few noises during the day, but it wasn't at all disturbing. However, a peak outside gave a perfect view of the Matterhorn!

As before, they were extremely accommodating and willing to provide any assistance. Although they had a set menu for the night after New Year's, they were equally able to accommodate any special requests.

Same comments I gave before still ring true....great to have a repeat experience. And we saw several guests from prior year, so they valued a repeat visit as well.

We just returned from a fabulous 5 night / 6 day winter vacation in Zermatt, staying at the Hemizeus. The Palazzo Family are wonderful people who take great care in ensuring you have a fabulous vacation. We enjoyed an amazing 4 course meal each night of our stay and took advantage of the excellent spa they have on site.
Prior to our arrival we emailed the hotel when we planned to arrive and they had one of their electric cars standing by to shuttle us to the hotel. Upon check in we were given a nice room with an amazing view of the Matterhorn (see picture below). The rooms are equipped with a small kitchenette so you can cook small meals or keep some food in your room if you choose.
The Hemizeus hotel was the perfect base for our winter ski trip, it is almost like staying with family. Although you do have to walk a little up hill to get to the hotel, if you stow your ski equipment at the Dorsaz Sport at the base of the Matterhorn Express lift you don't have to carry your equipment, nor battle the huge crowds of people trying to ride the bus into town.
We had a fabulous time and plan to return later in the year.

Stayed here for 6 nights and arrived to helpful collection from station - then found we had a picture book view of Matterhorn from our room and balcony.

Although a 15min walk from town centre it is well placed for Matterhorn gondola or for starting off on walks.

Rooms are good size and comfortable, staff are friendly & helpful, meals are lovely.

On June 2011, we stayed 2 nites there.

Perfect Matterhorn view room - thanks for hotel arrangement. Worth the extra $ to ask for.. see attached pic we took from balcony.

Room is big enough and the restroom is very clean.

Their spa has just broken on the day we stayed. So no chance to enjoy the spa. And the restaurant is closed as low occupancy on the week we stayed. So we cannot comment on the spa and restaurant. But fab reviews are from other trip advisors.. maybe our miss!

Owner took an extra step to help us to do laundromat at her house. She is very kind & sincere. Family run hotel.

Easy access to lift station to Matterhorn (within 10 mins very easy walk).

Away from the town center. Zermatt town is a little disappointment as too many tourists, constructions and hotels..we did not like to stay in town center as our main goal is Matterhorn. Then Apparthotel Hemizeus is perfect for our choice.

Note you can walk from town center to hotel but very longgg walk (we did not try to walk, my guess is 45 min slow walk as some steep slope up). We paid for a regular town bus which takes less than 10 mins from town to hotel. Bus has a time schedule and make sure to ask for it. On the first day we were surprised to see the bus went so far away from town... 2nd day we got used to it when we went to town center for more choices of restaurants.
