We stayed for 4 nights at the Antares and we will be back as soon as we can. The hotel is friendly and the food is excellent. It is located next to one of the main ski lifts so it takes all the hardwork out of a ski holiday.

I would highly recommend this hotel, have stayed there on three occasions, my husband and I have been there twice and once with our three teenage children. Fantastic location, couldn't have been closer to the gondola, 1 min walk. The staff are lovely, Monica the owner ensures you feel you are at home and the food is magnificent , great value, although after 5 courses each evening you begin to struggle by the end of the week. Rooms are clean and bathrooms modernised and the wellness area is wonderful. We can't wait to stay there again this year!

My husband and I have just spent an excellent 8 nights, half-board, in a superior room at the Antares in Zermatt. The whole experience was first-rate and I would recommend the Antares to anyone looking for a superb hotel in a quiet location (c 10 minutes' walk from the main street, bars etc), plus gourmet food and a very short walk to the best ski lift. We were given the most fantastic welcome by the owner Monica, as were all of the other guests (many of whom appeared to be regular hotel visitors or locals enjoying a special meal). The five-course half-board dinner is excellent value, featuring interesting and varied menus, top quality produce and plenty of choice. Plus an excellent wine list to accompany the food ! Breakfast was also excellent and freshly-cooked eggs of any description were produced very quickly.

The owners and staff were without exception very friendly and helpful, but at the same time very efficient. This was true from the initial telephone call to Andrea on reception to make the reservation, right through to our last evening (on which the kitchen really surpassed themselves).

The room was a good size for a traditional Swiss hotel, with plenty of cupboard space and hangers, a luxury bathroom, quality toiletries, hair drier, safe, fruit bowl, minibar, robes and slippers. The view of the Matterhorn from the balcony was simply superb and probably one of the best in the village.

We used the spa (not huge, but very well-equipped), the massage service (excellent !), the laundry service (the standard 24-hour turn-around was on-time and very well done, both ski wear and formal shirts etc).

A special mention must go to the restaurant waiters and waitress - a great team and nothing is overlooked or too much trouble for them.

I can highly recommend the Antares. I rate it alongside the 5* London Sofitel as one of the best and most consistent hotels I have stayed at in recent months. We are planning a longer stay next year ! I would recommended this hotel in particular to those who enjoy gourmet dining - both for couples and for those single travellers who are looking for a genuinely warm welcome.

We` ve just returned from our stay in Zermatt and we highly recommend this hotel! The whole team of the Antares has done a perfect job, always attentive and extremely polite. Monica, the hotel owner, is the heart of the Antares! She`s always smiling and always striving to please everybody. There almost aren`t any words to describe the excellent gourmet kitchen which we could experience: Gerry, hotel owner and head cook of the Antares has surprised as every night with another ambrosial menu! This meal is fit for a king! The rooms are very cosy and in good style. The bathrooms with Swarovski crystals are stunningly beautiful! Another highlight was our unbelievable view onto the Matterhorn! Generally, the hotel has a very classic interior design which we loved! The location is unique - just besides the hotel there was the ropeway which takes you up to the ski area. We`ve spent a perfect stay in the Antares and therefore already booked for next year!
