“Primavera : great views of the Matterhorn and easy access to Sunnegga”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Lovely views of the Matterhorn that you can see from your bed (as the website claims).
Clean and spacious for Swiss standards. Much better than other Swiss hotels we have stayed in.

Could improve by providng kettles with tea and coffee in the bedrooms. The showerhead was mounted halfway up the wall which made showering a bit akward.

Staff were friendly and the free wi-fi available in the reception area are positive points.

The hotel was in walking distance (2-3 minutes) to the Sunnega ski entrance , which made it a very convenient location (big plus point for skiers).

The continental breakfast was very nice with fresh breads, cold meats, cheeses and cereals ; as well as tea , coffe and juice. Great way to start a day filled with skiing.

The staff are very prompt at responding to emails prior to one's visit and are very obliging in providing letters for embassies.

When arriving at the train station in Zermatt , we would recommend walking to the hotel (as opposed to using a taxi which costs between CHF 17-20).

To get to the Gornegrat ski lift station, you can use the green line bus which stops outside the Sunnegga ski lift station.

Room Tip: Pay CHF 10 extra for a room with a great view of the matterhorn. we stayed in room 14 (1st floor) wh...

“Incredible view! Very clean and comfortable. Ideal location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

Rooms are spacious and very clean. Views of the Matterhorn exceptional! Can hear the sheep in the distance on the hills. Good service. Walking distance from everything. Highly reccommended.

Room Tip: Make sure you request the Matterhorn side of the hotel.

“Affordable, nice staff, great breakfast, views views views.”

Chose this hotel as the most affordable (under $400) room left in Zermatt for a last minute visit and was not disappointed, worth it. I had a clean small room with a balcony overlooking the Matterhorn to perfection, breakfast was included, great selection and a fantastic espresso machine to make your very own delicious coffee in the morning. Enjoyed a local beer on their cute little sunny patio with stunning views. Hotel has free wi-fi, and a short walk to town, train station. The staff was friendly and helpful, I would stay there again.

“In a sea of expensive options, a good, affordable choice”

We picked Hotel Primavera because it was one of the few options in Zermatt with reasonable prices and decent reviews - and that's exactly what we found. The room was decent in size, and we had a balcony with two chairs and a great view of the Matterhorn. The bathroom was a bit dated and the breakfast spread was adequate but not excellent, but - as a clean and comfy place to sleep between hikes - it was exactly what we were looking for. We'd go back.

“The Best Deal in Zermatt....Without a Doubt!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

Decided to scoot off to Zermatt for the weekend as there was the folklore parade going on. I was told by most people that almost all hotels were fully booked and that it would be hard to find a place to stay. I jumped online and was able to find Hotel Primavera at 75$ a night.

I arrived past 8PM which was past check-in hours to find an envelope at the front desk with my name on it. In it was my key and my room number. Not expecting too much I went up to my room only to be AMAZED by the view I had of the Matterhorn, incredible. The room had a balcony, a TV with about 55 channels all in different languages and some very simple yet `swiss´ furniture.

The hotel is located about 7 minutes walking from the main train station up a good sized hill. Taxi Bolero tried to charge me 12 francs for the trip but instead I just asked for directions.

Breakfast was delicious as well. 10 different kinds of tea, 3 different kinds of chocolate milk, bread, yogurt, OJ, muesli with yogurt, cereal and hard boiled eggs.

If you get a chance to book here...DO IT! You will not go wrong. The lobby also has 2 computers with internet available free of charge.
