“A beautiful hotel in the heart of Zermatt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We enjoyed a wonderful New Year's experience at the Hotel Touring Zermatt. The service was excellent with the owners always being pleasant and available for any request and full of excellent recommendations for places to go and things to see. The location of the Hotel, just above central Zermatt, made exploring in any direction convenient and easy.
The view of the town below was stunning and picturesque, and the best seat for the New Year's Eve fireworks was on our balcony. The only drawback was that the bed was a little more firm than our liking, but this was easily eclipsed by our overwhelmingly positive experience.

“Clean, pleasant, friendly staff, good food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2009

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Touring. The staff were friendly, the room clean and tidy and well-appointed and had the most marvellous view of the Matterhorn. The food was very good and the hotel reasonably well-located.
All in all a good stay.

“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2008

Stayed here as part of a walking holiday. Good food, accommodation and staff. Enough help but not 'in your face'. Recommended. Good location too, out of the main bustle but not too far out.

This hotel is fantastic. Centrally located, 5 mins walk from the church. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast is great, rooms comfortable and inexpensive. Friendly staff (not always the case in Zermatt). Will definitely be back.

“quiet comfortable stay, awesome view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2007

Our family of 4 just returned from a 5 night stay at the Hotel Touring for a ski vacation. We chose the hotel for its convenient "half board" meal plan, Matterhorn views, price, old world charm (pine paneled rooms with modern conveniences), and central location off the main thoroughfare. A bit of a walk to the ski lifts in boots but not too bad. We were not disappointed and we thank the initial Trip Advisor reviewer from England for the recommendation.

Positives: full views of the Matterhorn, tasty and artfully served multiple course meals, competent personnel, sparkling clean facilities. Easy to strike up conversations with other guests who are mainly from England and Germany or from other parts of Switzerland. Try the local white wine with the raclette dinner entree.
Quiet at night. Our boys raved about the hot chocolate and bakery rolls at breakfast.

Negatives: no elevator but we didn't mind the exercise. Watch the bar tab for dinner extras like house wine or an afternoon beer. $$ You can buy your own wine and they will serve it at dinner.
We required 2 rooms (2 teen boys, 2 parents) with no family discount for children ($120 swiss francs per night per person as initially quoted). Pricey but the breakfast and dinner included every day for a family of 4 made it a good value for Zermatt and we would return.

Rooms look to be as shown on the internet. We had rooms 19 and 22, both with baths, on the top 4th floor at either end, not connected--each had a small outside deck with 2 chairs for unobstructed, jaw dropping Matterhorn viewing. Room 22 has 2 sinks, a large bath/shower. Room 19 has a shower, toilet and sink. Bring your own toiletries like shampoo and lotion. Beds comfortable if not firm, quality linens, TV with multiple channels including morning weather updates, homey/charming decor, plenty of storage. There is a pleasant seating area downstairs with comfortable chairs, a large screen TV, and internet access. Owner will assist with shuttling you and your luggage to the train station in their electric vehicle.
