Most of the hotel rooms in Zermatt are very expensive and Allalin is one of those in the middle range but still the highest room rate for our 18days europe journey.

The hotel in fact is conveniently located, just about 2 mins walk from the main street Bahnhofstr and less than 10mins walk from the main station, just if you are not walking with the heavy/large baggages - We spent almost 20mins walk from the station to the hotel as we were carrying 2 huge baggages and the baggages wheels just can't' work properly on snow!!

Upon arrival in Allalin Hotel, we were exhausted with our "long" walk but glad that we were immediately offered a glass of welcome drinks at the Frontdesk. Then we was told that a shuttle bus can be arranged for free pick up at station!!! @.@ Well I can't blame the hotel because I booked the hotel through booking.com and it didn't mention in the hotel description!

The frontdesk staff is friendly and attentive, she patiently introduces us the highlights of Zermatt and guides us where to rent ski gear and what we have to pay attention to when we walking around.

The hotel room is in vintage styled, small yet cosy. It is clean and well-equipped with what you need for a short stay.

Overall - a happy stay with Allalin.

This hotel is fantastic in Zermatt - the rates are very reasonable and we requested a room with a view of the Matterhorn - outstanding!! The room was great, carved wood everywhere in the room which gave it a great cozy feel. A little bubbly on arrival was also excellent! Highly recommend this great Zermatt Hotel!!

The Allalin Hotel was wonderful. There was a free shuttle from the station that we organised with the hotel and upon arrival there was a delicious cocktail waiting at reception for us. The hotel is warm and inviting and has wonderfully Swiss woodcarving on the many of the walls and ceilings. On the ground floor are two great places to sit and relax - a front room with tea and coffee facilities and the room at the rear which has a bar and a woodfire. When the barmaid found out I was celebrating my fortieth birthday she brought me and my friends a glass of champagne each! We has expressly requested and paid for rooms with a Matterhorn view and we were not disappointed! Just fantastic to wake up to the Matterhorn view in the morning. By the way, it is true that rooms on the other side of the hotel overlook a small graveyard but I wouldn't have minded overlooking it as it is wonderfully historic and charming (you're right next door to a church after all!), plus you would see the rest of Zermatt in that direction also. Breakfast was terrific - breads, meats, cheeses, eggs, cereals, yoghurts, juices tea coffee etc - a great buffet! Plenty of breads but no toaster. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a couch to sit on and a little coffee table as well as a desk. The bathroom was spotless and well-appointed. You are very well located at this hotel but not on a hugely busy street. I would definitely stay here again.

My stay started with being greated with a welcome drink and then a very cheerful introduction to Zermatt with lots of information provided. My room was clean with a personal welcome note (that really was) and some fruit and chocolates. Every evening my bed was turned down and the maid service was excellent. The morning continental breakfast was excellent with eggs every day and a selection of cold meats and cheeses with granola and yoghurts and fresh fruit. The ski and boot room under the hotel was also great with boot warmers. The hotel is also nice and close to the bus that is included in the ski pass (which I bought from the hotel reception). I love Zermatt and Allalin Hotel just made my stay even better - I will be back.
