Found this hotel on a local resident's recommendation. Showed up w/o a reservation at 21:30 and the owner attended us at the door -- we were pleasantly surprised that they took us in and accommodated us. Agreed upon rate for 3 adults: 140 CHF (incl. VAT) The rooms are all upstairs on the second floor accessible by a grand stairwell. The room itself was basic but very clean and comfortable and had a balcony and a small color television with about 15 channels. One full-size bed and a bunk-bed. A clock-radio was provided. A simple menu was available from the hotel bar/restaurant at that hour and the czech-speaking cook made a delicious large pizza for 18,50 CHF.

The following morning the hand-shower was warm and had excellent pressure. Breakfast was included in the rate and was a continental 1-egg, with breakfast meats and bread. The cafe latte was delicious.

The owners are fluent in German, Italian, English and Portuguese. After a pleasant conversation, we packed out and left with a smile.

The only thing that was not agreeable to us was the fact that, upon our return to the US and receiving our credit card statement, we found that the charges that we had agreed to in CHF were actually billed to our card in EUR, thereby actually raising the rate of our room and food by approximately 15%.
