I have been to this hotel many times, and I love it!
I love its location, its setting, the understate elegance, and personalized service.
Each room is differently appointed, and has specatacular view of the lake. Breakfast on the balcony is a must in the warm wheater! Food is delicious, and they cook anything you ask, there is a lot of flexibility, and they have a healthy/ diet menu.

I loved the treatments at Clarins spa, and Cristiana is excellent.

I was there again just before Christmas, the atmosphere was joyous, and full of magic glitters, it reminded me in being a child and seeing the beautifull holiday decorations. it is worthed!

they do many small seminars which are in old high ceilings palace rooms, it feels you are in a private villa.
I do highly recomend it! and I will go again soon

I'm writing this review from my balcony of the hotel. Villa Castagnola it's a very grand a old luxury hotel. Although I prefer modern hotels. I am very much enjoying my stay. The staff are very helpful and service is great. Then food is excellent and the rooms are spacious and well appointed. I do feel like I've travelled back in time, but in a good way. Staying here makes me feel like I could be on set of an Italian movie or Vogue photo shoot. My husband and I did not get to bed till very late so asked out breakfast to be brought up to our room. They usually stop serving at 11:00 but were kind enough to bring us our food at 12:00. We order egg white omelettes and porridge, both were not on the menu, so we were very pleased with how accommodating the kitchen was. We ate on the balcony over looking the beautiful grounds with palm trees, lake and mountain peek. It's a stunning view to wake up to. If you like classic luxury I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Many Swiss hotels are of high quality in all respects. I have stayed in this hotel 5 times and I have not found a single thing that I can critisize. Of course this may not be the cheapest hotel in town but I think it is well worth the price. The service is impeccable, the rooms very good, the breakfast very good, the location very good. Free parking.

This hotel has the indefinite balance between perfect sercice, the very best food, excellent wines, great environments and a touch of cosyness.
It is very hard to find anything to complain here.
