It was an ok hotel, nothing all that special. I suppose the plus point was the location, which was pretty good. Nothing else really sticks to mind. Not only was internet access not free but you had to buy cards. Not only did I have to pay but they didn't have any short usage cards left so I had to buy a 24hr card when I only needed about an hour. You would have thought I would have received it at least at a discount but nope.

The hotel itself is in need of a bit of a revamp. In fact I think there was a bit of work going on. The rooms however are ok, certainly spacious and in a pretty decent location.

Room service was so so, the food wasn't anything special.

Would probably see if I could find something better next time.

I came back to this hotel after two years and found that it has been renovated, updated and embellished. While the restaurant, receiption, bar and breakfast room remained the same, the rooms have all been refurnished and updated. Since on two sides of the hotel there are busy streets I found the soundproof windows combined with efficient A/C and heating a great feature. Also, the new furniture and TV system with over seventy channels are a welcome addition to this well located hotel. It is easy to reach from the Lugano train station and from the exit south of the freeway Zurich - Milan. The breakfast buffet, which is included in the price for the room, is extremely varied and generous - a real treat. The only negative factor is that WiFi has to be paid for. Kind of strange in a hotel heavily used by business people.

I was there several times, for a total of about 3 months. i was living there.
So I know it quite well.
Very nice the staff, similing and professional. Remember that in CH you must be nice, if you're rude they are in difficukties to help you.
Giant free park, in Lugano is absolutely RARE.
Nice breakfast, even if there is no rotation at all.
The hotel is always full, tourists, from asia, with tons and tons of baggages, coming there with several buses. Pay attention, they eat all.
Rooms: not always are large, ask for lake view (sooo nice), from x04 to x15 (x=floor). Averagely clean.
There is a restaurant in the back, open up to 23.45 (rare for Lugano), not the best but eatable.
Cons: no iron, no laundrymat at all in Lugano (landries are soooooooo expensive), safe with keycard combination (not always woirking at the firts swipe).
Free wifi up to several megas (20 or 50) in the lobby: you must have your notebook. This is very rare all over !!
Nice but small swimming pool with a garden overlooking some buikldings outside.
This is the fiorst hotel you find exiting the highway Lugano Sud, so easy.

We booked our 3 bed room three weeks ahead through their homepage. When we arrived the 3rd bed was a bathtub like fold-away bed which was only 1.80 m long! When we asked for normal bed, they said, they where booked out and they don't have another bed. Finally they did find a longer fold away bed, but still, a fold-awy bed, when you book a suite with 3 beds is definitely not what a 4 star hotel should offer at the normal price. We complaint again at the end of the stay and asked for a price reduction. The employer there said, it's not in his sphere of competence but we will hear from the hotel manager directly. I never heard from him, even not after sending them an email again to complain. For the rest of the hotel: The room (a suite) was rather small and didn't look like on the picture, the pool area is rather small, the hotel is between two very busy streets, breakfast was ok.
