This cute little hotel is right by Lago Maggiore, a stone's throw away from the train station and funiculars to other sights, and a short walk to the old city. Petra, at the reception desk, was kind, friendly, and extremely helpful. She gave good money-saving tips. My room, however, was very small. If I had brought a suitcase instead of a small overnight bag, there would have been no space to open it! Ask for a room with a view of the lake. On a clear, sunny day, it's simply breathtaking!

We stayed in the microscopic Jazz room - the price was awesome (in typical American vernacular, low price, great value). Let's face it, if you're in Ticino, especially in Locarno, do you really want to stay in your room all day and night? Of course not. Yes, the room was wee, but everything about the room and the bath was perfect. My DH thought the bath was the finest we had in our 3 weeks across Switzerland!

We wandered in off the street seeking a room and were comfortably ensconced in Jazz less than 5 minutes after our first step in the door. The location near the train station and the TI is excellent as well.

Breakfast was lovely, typical Swiss "continental style", and as a coffee junkie, I was very impressed. Unlike a few other places we stayed, we didn't feel rushed to free up our table, and lingered for 2 hours over coffee and wonderful breads.

As for service, the staff showed us the room before asking us to "commit", and they stored our luggage for us on our final day so we could wander the city for a few more hours before our train, an unexpectedly kind service.

I stayed in a 'small double' - absolutely fine for 1 person but possibly a bit of a squeeze for 2. The room was lovely and clean, fully air-conditioned, digital TV (with several English channels BBC/ITV/CH4 etc for English speakers) and the bed was extremely comfortable with soft cotton duvet / pillows. The shower room is large and fitted with high quality furnishings.
The location was ideal - literally two minutes walk to the train station and across the road from the tourist information and the boat departure point. The only slight downside is that the hotel is close to a busy intersection so it is not ideal if you wish to keep your windows open at night.

Was a last minute booking and chose after readings reviews on here.

The location of the hotel could not be better ... very central, a few mins walk from the train station and main square, pus directly over the road from the lake.
We initially were placed in the room Charlie Parker, but due to a problem with the aircon, we were relocated into a larger room.
Would I stay here again ... YES!
