I stayed for one night at the Loeffler Hotel on April 21/22, 2007. The male manager of this hotel apparently had the indecency to read my wife’s private fax to me and thus discovered my ethnic origin. Throughout my stay I was harassed by this person. The ethnic basis of this was disclosed by his Swiss-born wife/female manager, who was otherwise civil enough. The man is outrageous and spoilt my stay.

This hotel had a few good points. It was reasonably priced, and they did laundry by the load -- much less expensive than by the piece. There was an excellent restaurant nearby. That said...the hotel was far from the train station and center of town. Buses were erratic. Our room was very small, but clean and would have been just fine except that it was directly across from the reception on the second floor. That's two feet away! It was only yards away from the breakfast room. It also faced a charming view (not!) of the construction site across the street. All of this combined to make a very noisy place to stay. Keys were to be left in a basket at the reception, but there was usually no one there so anyone could have taken them. You had to pick up the telephone there and call, then wait for someone to come assist you. If price is your only concern, then stay here. Otherwise I would certainly try to find somewhere else.

This hotel is nothing spectacular nor was it bad...it was ok. We overnighted and that was plenty. The loud construction across the street did not make it homey either.

The rooms very neat and tidy however it seemed to be a little dated. The room was very hot with no visible thermostat but it was well below freezing outside so sleeping with a window open was not an option. The beds were not very comfortable. I did not sleep well at all that night and I'm not hard to suit.

Breakfast was ok...that's all. One good thing they make their yogurt from scratch. The dinning room was a little complicated to find because it is on the second floor along with the reception area and the rooms are on the 3rd floor and up (A little confusing).

I could stay here again but I would rather choose something else.

The Loeffler Hotel in Saint Moritz Bad was nothing special, but ok on all fronts - location, staff, rooms, breakfast etc. It also seemed like a newer hotel and the rooms/ decor were all new and well-maintained. The hotel manager was friendly and helpful, but a little talkative. The reception was actually on a different floor which is kinda odd. There were a few restaurants nearby and the place is not too far from the train station (by bus). Breakfast was adequate. We had a good stay and would stay here again.
