The building is old, but in a good way. You can feel the history of the place and the interiors create a nice, warm feeling. The view to the lake was indeed superb! The sinks were in the bedroom and not in the (small) bathroom, which was a bit weird, though. The restaurant was spacious, perhaps even a bit too big, because it seemed to be empty most of the time. There was a computer with free internet connection in the lobby and free wireless internet was also available. In the basement there was nice spa.
So far all good. But the thing that was not ok was the attitude of some of the personnel. From the start we felt that we are not welcome. The receptionist did not believe that the spa was included in the room price, before I told that I have the confirmation where it is written. Nobody smiled and I got a feeling, that they have something more important to do than talk to a young couple who is staying just three nights (most of the guests seemed to consist of pensioners). In the restaurant there was an arrogant headwaiter who was mumbling all the time something in Italian(?), even though he must have noticed that we don't understand...
The staff creates a major part of athmosphere in any hotel, so unfortunately Soldanella is losing much of its great potential due to some arrogant staff. If I ever visit St Moritz again, I'm going to try another hotel...
