From the moment we arrived, the Europa Hotel treated us like we were staying at a five star hotel - from the free transfer from the train station to the "nothing is too much" service that we received throughout our stay.
Whilst the initial impression is that the decor in the bedrooms may be a bit dated, the excellent service, the spaceous rooms as well as newly fitted out bathrooms, more than make up for it.
Things that made this hotel feel like a five star included: a complimentary hardcover book on the hotel and the area; the personalised and attentive service at dinner and breakfast; the more than helpful concierge; the ability to purchase ski passes directly from reception; the availability of the transfer bus to hire ski equipment; the outstanding dinners each evening as well as the large selection of items for breakfast and an evening bedroom turn down.
The hotel makes personal service a priority which was evident from the introductory evening hosted by the manager as well as his attendance and greeting of the guests most evenings at the restaurant.
It should be noted that the hotel caters largely for an older clientele or for couples rather than families with children. However, as nothing is ever too much for this hotel, a large family would likely still have an enjoyable stay at this lovely hotel.
