From Davos Dorf station cross over the road take a bus towards Davos Platz (SFR3) and about 5 minutes later get off at Shiabach bus stop (next to the Bang & Olufson shop). Cross over the road, continue in the direction of travel for a few metres, then turn left and walk down a steep and narrow road for about 100 metres. The hotel is on the right. Otherwise you could walk the whole way in about 15-20 mins (as I did) No taxi rank at Davos Dorf, so if you want a taxi, you will have to travel to Davos Platz station and come back on yourself.
The hotel is about 4 minutes by bus from the Parsenn Bahn which will link you to the Klosters ski area. The locals go in the other direction to the Rinerhorn (pronounced Reenerhorn), which is 15 minutes or so on the bus, where the queues are shorter and where you will find an excellent toboggan run. Jakobshorn, at the Platz end of town, has the best beginner's area. I have never stayed in a ropey hotel in Switzerland - the Swiss train their staff properly and know their business. This is a 3 star and is better than most 4 star hotels I have stayed at in the UK. There is a 4 course set dinner, which may be included in your room rate, and showed some style and imagination. Stock up on booze at the coop.

The town doesnt have much going on outside of Winter or a Economic summit. Dissapointed with the town as its very quiet with no real night life. Im told in winter for skiing that it is very good and you can ski right into some of the hotels. The main prommenade is a drive through street and there are no real international shops here, so you wont be going shopping here. The scenery is lovely all around this location and that is the main reason. Good for hill walking etc.
the hotel was clean enough, very basic rooms, old tvs etc. It was fine for 1 night but very basic and they wouldnt budgge on the price of 100 euro although we did get half board. the dinner and breakfast were good enough albiet not anything special .Staff were good and freindly so it was fine. Im sure you can find better though in the town, I would recommend Bormio as a more happening and nicer town though.

Arrived in Davos having just been totally ripped off by the Austrian authorities who kindly pointed out we needed an 8 euro permit to drive on Austrian roads (having only skimmed through the country for all of 2 hours before leaving for Switzerland) and fined us 120 euros!!!!! BE WARNED all those out there who cannot read the local lingo!
The manager at the Hotel Cresta gave us kindly advice on Swiss policy (40 francs for an annual permit on Swiss highways) and gave us a free space in the garage. We stayed in a studio, amazing value and had everything we needed. Clean, lovely view of the mountains behind and the golf course. Made a rather horrible experience much more bearable!!!

Stayed for 5 nights on midweek special in February 08. Upon arrival they gave us an appartment instead of hotel room. Nice done, but the appartment was very very old. Nice service from staff and located perfect.
