When we arrived at the hotel, the staff immediately came out to greet us followed by the owner. They were so warm and friendly throughout our stay. The food was lovely and the hotel conveniently located. When we left, the owner made the effort to come out and made sure everything was sorted. We had a lovely time and would definitely go back again!

This was our second visit to the Fluela, but the first trip for our children (14 and 12). As you arrive in DAvos Dorf station the porters are waiting to carry your luggage across the road and the service was of a similarly high standard throughout our stay. The owner of the hotel (which has been in the family for, I believe, over 100 years) greeted us as we arrived in the hotel and is totally charming. The hotel is brilliantly situated close to the main Parsenn train and even closer to the end of the ski run back to Davos.

There is a wonderful pool and spa, complete with outdoor hot tub and various menthol, salt and steam rooms, plus a sauna. We did not have a massage but understand it is very good.

The food in the restaurant is very good with an extensive buffet for breakfast. We ate in the Stubli (extra cost) which was fabulous, albeit expensive!

Free access to computers was a bonus.

We had two fantastic rooms which were in a wing of the hotel. A wonderful touch was the children returning on Easter Sunday to a basket with two large chocolate rabbits plus a large supply of small eggs and jelly beans.

We cannot recommend the Fluela highly enough - it is expensive but comparable price wise with other hotels of this standard.

I recently went to Davos for a 4 day ski holiday, purchased through the [--] website. This is a great place to purchase hotel and ski tickets at substantial discounts. I chose to stay at the Fluela because of its location just across the street from the trainstation in Davos Dorf and a couple of hundred meters from the Parsenn gondola.

The skiing was great, except for one day when the visibility got down to 10 meters at best, making it a challenge to get home. Otherwise, there was 12 inches of fresh snow and great intermediate skiing.

The Fluela is one of two 5-star hotels in Davos, the other one being the Steigenberger. I much prefer the Fluela, because it is smaller and much more friendly. The other review mentions Marco at the front desk and I agree he is a great asset to the hotel, as are all of the other staff in the restaurant and the front desk. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and responsive. The owner greeted us as we arrived and thereafter spoke to us on several occassions. After a few days, I felt like I was staying with friends.

I highly recommend the wellness spa, with 2 interesting steam baths, a great sauna, and very unusual foot "bath". The massages were also good.

My booking included half-board, which meant breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was the very complete buffet style that high quality Swiss and German hotels do so well, and dinner was gourmet quality dining and service. I was skiing with my brother, and we told the waitstaff to educate us on Swiss wines, and were not dissapointed. The red wines from Graubudner canton were excellent. The staff are Italian, spend the summer working at the finest hotels in Lake Como, and are true professionals.

I would very much recommend this hotel to traveleres looking for a smaller high quality hotel in Davos. For the best deal, I recommend booking through [--]

We have just come back from our third visit to this marvellous hotel.
The hotel is convieniently located close to the Parsenn lift system that can whisk you up to the top of the mountain in 14 minutes. There you will find a glorious sight to behold, especially in winter.

The staff, run by Herr Marco Borer are truly superb and attend to your every need. A special note must go the the concierge Franco who kept our 3 year old occupied at times during the days.

If you are looking for a cheap stay forget it, you get what you pay for here at the Fluela and it is worth every penny. The wellness centre is one of the best of any hotel that I have stayed in worldwide.

This is a truly great 5 Star hotel and we cannot wait until we return at Easter 2005.
