We booked the hotel because we wanted a really comfortable hotel during our visit to Davos for the Swiss Alpine marathon. It is a tough event and we wanted a comfortable hotel near the event start and a spa. The hotel is very well located, only a 5 minute walk from Davos Dorf station, with a regular bus service along the main thoroughfare to Davos Platz just outside. The immediate area is really lovely.
We found a warm welcome and we received a room upgrade to a suite - room 234 - which was a huge bonus. The suite had a very generous lounge area with a small kitchenette, which we used a lot, a balcony and a decent sized bedroom. It made the stay really comfortable and private. We spent lots of time in our room to rest, which is exactly what we needed, both before and after the event. The kitchenette was equipped with a small electric stove, a fridge and sink, so we could cook snacks and light meals. The suite wasnt especially luxurious but it was roomy and very quiet, at the rear of the hotel, with only one adjacent room which can form the 2nd bedroom of a 2-bed secluded suite. The balcony overlooked a garage at the rear of the Parsenn cable car station, so don't expect a view of the mountains. This wasnt an issue for us.
The spa was comfortable, with lounge chairs, 2 saunas and a steam room, a small exercise room , jacuzzi baths and a sunbed.
We ate only breakfast in the dining room but it was really good, with a great selection of cold plates and hot food to order.
The staff were generally very friendly, courteous and helpful. We plan to stay there again on our next visit to Davos and we found it a much better stay than our stay last year for the same event at the Morosani hotel - see review also.
Room Tip: we happen to have a sheraton card which might have got us the upgrade
