Spent three nights at the Hohe Promenade: a small,quiet, restful inn with great views. The required half pension was definitely worth it. Mr. Ackerman, owner and chef, provided some very good meals, although the selection was somewhat limited. Both the town of Arosa and the hotels/inns in town should do a little more for English speaking visitors. At a minimum, they should have a good list with maps of the great hiking trails available in English.

rooms clean and comfortable, great views and located a short walk (5-10 minutes) from town center. Management requires half-pension, breakfast - excellent, but dinner menu choices limited to meat(or fish) dish and a vegetarian alternative. Other guiests appeared to have no complaints, but the food, given the cost, was substandard. One evening, the fish dish we were served were fried fish sticks, and not as tasy as Mrs. Paul's. When we gave notice that we wanted to eat out, we were charged for the meals, and received no discount.
Swiss tap water, at least in Arosa, is delicious, and when we requested it rather than bottled water, the manager told us that "we charge for tap water, too:" 2.50 Francs chf a carafe, which appeared on our bill.

I have been in many 3stars hotels in Switzerland and services in this hotel and the room quality exceeded my expectations.

Ackermann family run the hotel. It's in a central and quiet place, at the edge of the forest above the village centre; an ideal starting point for cable car, skilifts and hiking trails. First class kitchen, modern rooms, sauna, fitness, game-room and roof terrace with spectacular panoramic mountain view!

I stayed there a couple of times & loved it!
My boyfriend's family go back every year.
