“correct”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Been in such a place like Arosa where everything is expensive this hotel is just correct. Rooms are small but clean, the bathroom are extreamlly small (to clean your teeth the door of the bathroom must be open to be able to bend...)
The breakfast is ok. The service is very good, and the resturant is very good for such a country. The food was the best surpreise of all.

“Perfect Christmas Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Our Christmas holiday was absolutely perfect. We stayed in a Jr. Suite at the Kulm from December 24-28. The view from our room was breath taking. The location is perfect. You can ski right down to the front door. The hotel is directly across from the bunny hill. It's perfect to drop the kids off for ski lessons. After a day of skiing you can come back to the hotel and relax in the spa pool area. The spa pool has kids splash and play time every day from 4-5pm. The kids can come at other times but they must just relax and enjoy the pool or hot tub. My kids were fine with this but if you have younger kids that want to play it's best to bring them from 4-5pm. My husband and I enjoyed several spa treatments while we were there. The spa is wonderful. The kids club is perfect. My kids aged 11, 9, and 7 loved the kids club. They wanted to go there every day. They had activities going on all day long: cooking, night sledding, caroling, and many more. They also have the bigger kids room with video games and several other games around (marble games, etc...) The video games and air hockey do take 1-2chf coins. The kids can have dinner with the club at 6:30pm each night. We had to beg our kids to eat with us on Christmas night. They really loved being in the club. The workers there made it so much fun for the kids. The hotel fondue room is also beautiful, I highly suggest doing this. Our family took a horse carriage ride through arose and this was also a nice experience. The hotel service was impeccable. Someone was always there ready to help with our every need. My kids are already asking us to book the hotel for next Christmas.

“Winter wonderland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

Arosa is a great favorite of mine. A village in the Engadine, nestled in a remote Alpine valley at an altitude of 6,000 feet, reachable only by mountain railway or by a fairly harrowing, narrow and curvy mountain road, it provides an ideal setting for both summer and winter vacations. The summers provide opportunities for long hikes with superb vistas along the way or, if one is so minded, a number of climbs of varying levels of difficulty can be undertaken. There are the usual tennis courts and swimming pools and an active nightlife at the hotels. In winter there are fine ski slopes, two ice rinks, sledding paths and not too difficult walks on well cleared paths. The Kulm has the perfect location, right at the foot of the main ski slope. One can literally step out the front door, snap on one's skis and ski to the bottom of the lift. The hotel is a grand old lady, with its origins in the nineteenth century. It has been thoroughly modernized and given a new, unfortunately rather prosaic, facade. The public rooms are comfortable, the bedrooms vary in size from the average to the vast, depending on price. There is an elaborate spa with a sauna and an indoor pool. The hotel has no fewer than five restaurants. It's of course pricey. In summer the minimum daily rate for a double with breakfast is $300, in winter that goes up to $500. Consider that, with meals on top of that, this is probably what you'd expect to pay for a week long cruise on one of the luxury lines these days.

“Simply Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2011

Firstly the Kulm in Arosa isn't cheap but it is really really good. This 5 star hotel offers a real 5 star experience .We spent christmas here and the Kulm just simply excels at what it does . Warm welcome , great restaurants , good bar , very pleasant rooms although the rooms are not really the main reason for the "brilliant " classification . So lets spell it out a little , we booked some months in advance and stated we would arrive by train from zurich at 1609 . The Kulm said they would send there driver to meet us. No reminders , no prompting there he was as we got off the train. Great start but from there it just got better. Reception minimal fuss quick. pool spa area truly special. Thai restaurant brilliant, Italian Stube restaurant Brilliant , Tavern restaurant bar brilliant , breakfast brilliant . so i guess you can pick up that we enjoyed the food and there were two more restaurants we didn't try . Then there was the Christmas carols by the staff on christmas eve out on the terrace with mulled wine , a nice duo playing in the bar , the santa sacks on the bedroom doors on christmas day , Add to that a really easy 100 yard trip to the 1st ski lift in the morning and a virtual ski back to the door position. Not finished yet , on departure the concierge checked us in for our flight back to London gave us our boarding passes and sent our bags ahead all the way to London where we picked them up on arrival. All in a very memorable Christmas can't wait to do it again and we shall. If you can accept that this all comes with a price to match then go for it its " Simply Brilliant"

Not sure what to add that hasn't already been said.
Wonderful hotel, fantastic location, great staff and strangely the nicest Thai food we have ever had outside of Thailand....which is not what you expect to find in a Swiss alpine resort !!
Easy to access the town, lifts for mountains, great walks on the doorstep and cannot recommend it high enough
