“friendly service, excellent food, nothing too much trouble”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2009

This hotel is situated in the centre of Arosa half -way between the lifts at either end of the village and connected to both by a public bus (stop just 3/4 mins from hotel). The owners and staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful at all times. The food was outstanding with a 4 delicious courses every evening & a substantial buffet breakfast in the mornings. The only small fault was the size and comfort of the sofa bed which our two children shared.
The special package - half board and ski passes worked out to be good value.

“Lovely friendly atmosphere in comfortable surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2009

A comfortable Hotel we have used for the last three years for skiing, its situated a bus ride and short walk from the bottom of the slopes the hotel does provide minibus transportation and they will collect and return you to the station. The Hotel has friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere, excellent al a carte restuarant serving a good variety of food to please all nations. Breakfast is plentiful and the service is of a very high standard. Rooms on first floor with balconies have restricted views of the surrounding mountains but on higher floors the views improve. The rooms are generous and even with a sofa bed for small children are not cramped.

“Wonderful Stay at the Arve Central”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2009

We, two couples in our late 50s, all experienced travellers in many countries around the world, have just returned from two fantastic nights in Arosa, staying at the Arve-Central.

On the train to Arosa we rang the hotel to inform them of our arrival time. They said they would have somebody there at the station to pick us up and take us to the hotel.
This was a nice touch and a sign of things to come.

Considering the moderate price we paid, the hotel was way above average, in every way.
The same may be said of all the staff.
Rooms are clean and spacious and the dining facilities excellent.
There is a good range of superb food on the menu, all at very reasonable prices.
Location-wise, the Arve-Central is pretty much perfect, just a block or so from the main street.

Arve's manager, Roman, is an Australian who is as equally fluent in German as he is in English. From the moment we met him (he was the one who collected us at the station) he made us feel very welcome and comfortable. It was obvious that he wanted to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

We had barely arrived when Roman offered us a guided tour of the hotel, which we willingly accepted.
We were shown through the kitchens (immaculate) and the very impressive wine cellars (whose shelves contain a very large collection of wines from all over the world).
During this tour we passed by numerous staff and all seemed busy and happy; Roman's easy rapport with them was nice to see.
After the tour Roman asked if we would like to partake of some wine tasting. Again, we accepted with pleasure.
It soon became obvious that Roman -who, by the way, has extensive experience in many facets of the hospitality industry- is a wine buff and his passion for (and knowledge of) fine wines was something to behold.

Roman's wife Regina works at -and close by- the reception desk. She too has considerable hotel experience and she too was most helpful, friendly and smiling whenever we had a question.
Regina and Roman (parents of two little boys) show an enthusiasm for, and obvious enjoyment of their work in the hotel industry -this is very apparent in their interactions with all guests- and the way they run the Arve-Central is an absolute credit to them.

Towards the end of our stay we hired sleds from the Arve-Central and had a wonderful tme in the snow.

This was our first visit to Arosa and we left with only beautiful memories (and amazing photos).

We all agreed we'd be back and there was no question as to where we would stay... the Arve-Central, without doubt.

(We don't make these comments lightly....we have stayed in some of the finest 5-star hotels in the world and can honestly say that, value-for-money, the Arve-Central is right up there with the best we've had).

“Biking , hiking, food and wine!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2008

This Place is made for adventure. I came to Arosa for hiking and biking and wasn't disapointed. The Boss new all the best downhill and X-country trails which we just could't get enough of. They provide bike workshop tools to care for your bike and a secure storage area.
After a hard day on the trail it was great to get back to the hotel to relax. Our room had an awesome view out over the mountains and it was absolutly magic to wake up to.
On the last night i ate in Arvenstube which is the gourmet restaurant in the hotel. The Beef Steak Tatar is one of the house specialities and it really was a specialty! Mmmmm raw meat, all made right before my eyes! They have some supurb wines and we were happy to sit for hours enjoying our meal.
The staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome.

If you are looking for a great base of operations for your arosa holiday you can't get better than this.I had one of the most enjoyable stays ever at Arve Central and i would recommend it to anyone.

Thanks Guys, i will see you next season!
