A delightful hotel situated in Schwendi, 2 kilometers from Grindelwald. This hotel has all the alpine charm and ambience you could hope for. It is spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished( warm rooms, plenty of hot water and powerful showers!). The staff are delightful and friendly, as well as being extremely attentive. English, german and french are all spoken extremely well.
We stayed under a half board arrangement and not one evening meal was a dissapointment. We couldn't fault the buffet breakfast either. There was a truly generous and quality conscious approach to food and service provision. (As well as a big selection of beers and wines)
The quaint railway station at Schwendi is a few minutes walk away, with frequent train services going to Grindelwald and Interlaken.
The Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau all loom up over the hotel - the views are breathtaking.
Never has a hotel so delighted us. We will definitley be going back.
