We stayed for a truly amazing 10 days at the Alpenrose. The room had an amazing views and the food surpassed all our expectations, wonderful value and delicious. The staff were so very friendly and made us so welcome.....what more can we say....can't wait to rebook... It was the best holiday ever!!!!

We stayed for four nights in this wonderful Swiss hotel. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Jungfrau. It was magic to wake to the sounds of sheep in the nearby fields. it was so peaceful that we slept late. Breakfast is superb and as other reviewers have said," The 25 swiss franc evening meal is not only delicious, but the best value for money that one could expect." The hotel was spotless and it was good to read books about the area in the large lounge areas that are decorated in true Swiss style. This hotel is family run and it shows that it is run by people who really care and do all that they can to make everyone have such a pleasant stay. If I am lucky enough to return to Wengen I would definitely stay at this little gem.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights in September and had great stay at the Alpenrose. The Von Allman family know how to give their guests great service. The hotel is beautiful and cozy and the south-facing balcony rooms have stunning views of the peaks of the Berner Oberland and lush Launterbrunen Valley. I would highly recommend signing on for their dinner service. (The breakfast is included.) The food was outstanding at both meals, especially at dinner, and the service was top notch. My only complaint would be that a little soft music, maybe some classical or Swiss folk, would be nice to hear in the public rooms and dining room, which often felt too quiet and stiff like a church or a library. In fact, it was so quiet in those areas that it almost made it feel uncomfortable to talk because you could hear a pin drop. Other than that, I have nothing but praise for the Alpenrose and the Von Allmans'.

My husband and I traveled to Switzerland in late September and we hiked around the Bernese Oberland for four days. Our stay in Wengen, specifically at the Hotel Alpenrose was definitely the highlight. To start, we were greeted by super-efficient and friendly Ursula, who should be given an award for running a hotel so efficiently and yet always with friendliness and warmth. When one is far from home, a smile can go a long way to ease any anxieties due to lack of language knowledge, etc. We made a mistake when we booked and booked for the wrong night, but Ursula found us a room, at the same rate we had booked online, and always kept her calm in front of her worried customers. Our room was lovely, with amazing side views of the Jungfrau and direct views to a small grazing areas where we were greeted to the delightful sight of two recently born lambs. The hotel's five-course dinner at 25 Swiss Francs is the best bargain in the entire country. The waiters were really nice and very professional. The location can't be beat, the staff is incredible and the rooms are great. Oh, and one last thing: they have the best down pillows of any hotel I've ever been to! I would have liked to find out where they get them... so that I could bring some back home with me! All in all, a wonderful stay.
