We stayed for 4 nights in a condo. Very well equipped, it had all the amenities we could ask for. Very initimate and cosy and a wonderful view of the magestic Alps from our window. Going to bed and waking up to the mountains was a special treat. Plently of hiking trails nearby. Dennis was a wonderful hostess and was very helpful. Would love to go back.

We have stayed in the apartment, which is a separate unit from the rest of the rooms. It is perfect for a family of 4-5. Very cozy, well apppointed and with amazing views. Look for the friendly stray cat!

We stayed in the chalet for two nights in the second half of Oct and it turned out to be perfect!
Murren is a charming little town among the mountains' green and autumn colours. The scenery was beautiful. On our first evening, it snowed a few inches which was perfect for us tropical couple who had never seen snow in our entire life. A night of snow followed by two days of big sun shine with clear blue sky transformed the landscape into winter wonderland. Thus, within two days, we got to see both the summer and winter views.
Chalet Fontana is right in the middle of Murren. It is a lovely wooden chalet. The room we had was a triple room on the second floor with breath taking mountain view for CHF95 a night. Worth every single cent of it. The bed is big, clean and comfortable. The room is very spacious with plenty of room to move around. Shared toilet/bathroom on the second floor is big and clean. There is a huge bath tub. The shower is powerful, with plenty of hot water. There is a bookshelf on the second floor for book swap and lots of travel guides in the first floor lounge.
The host Denise is wonderful! Warm and friendly. When we were there, she had started cleaning up the apartments to end the summer season and was pretty busy. But she always made time to talk to us and made sure our stay was comfortable. Even when she was not around, she left us her mobile number in case we needed anything.
Perfect weather, perfect scenery, perfect room and perfect host. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

The Chalet has just the right blend of old world charm, modern convenience, and the views are breathtaking. Denise is a delightful host. The rooms are amply sized, and very clean. The location gives you just a 5 minute walk to the BLM train stop to Grutschalp, or 5 minutes in the other direction to the cable car to Gimmelwald/Schilthorn. I was out the door too early each morning to see the breakfast spread, but Denise was kind enough to pack a breakfast that I could take with me. In a town where things are pretty pricey Chalet Fontana is an incredible value. Can't wait to return.
