I visited the Metropole with Great Rail Journeys as a solo traveller. The hotel makes up for an unattractive exterior (how did they get planning permission!) by providing attractive rooms, especially on the South side, sliding doors to a great balconie and a view to die for!
The food was excellent - breakfast especially was great . A wonderful buffet with lots of choice. The ground floor public areas were over large and a little impersonal but this hotel was
spotlessly clean , the staff very helpful and polite, especially at Reception. Yes, I would stay here again, the same room (no 81) would be lovely!

Even the hotel Director himself will admit that it's not exactly the most beautiful building in the Bernese Oberland but once you're inside, it quickly becomes apparent why this place is so popular. During my recent stay I was treated to excellent service throughout by every single member of staff, the food was excellent, and the ambience at all times of day was just right. I strongly recommend asking for a room on the highest floor possible, simply because the higher you go, the better the view, and what a view from the top! Make sure you also enjoy an aperitif in the bar on the top floor. The hotel's location also ensures that you're ideally based for any business or leisure trip in the Bernese Oberland and for the price you pay, in my opinion, it represents extremely good value for money. Overall, a great place to stay.

we stayed with this hotel during my swiss trip in March. The View from our room & balcony is just AWESOME. Room service was at per. But hardly matters. But yep, morning breakfast was not so good. I wud reccomend others to stay here & if I visit again, yes I wud, wud definitely stay with the same hotel & the same room.

This hotel is one of the best hotels in Interlaken when it comes under scanning 4 star property. The staff is very helpful, the lobby is very clean. You feel like you are on a vacation when you are in Metrople. A good place to stay.
