I stayed in hotel Du Nord for 2 nights on a group tour. I was in a single room. The room was small, but adequate for one person. Bathroom only had a shower stall, no bath tub. The furniture was nice, decoration somehow looked Victorian-style to me (I am not a Brit to judge on Victorian style, so take this assessment with a grain of salt :-)). Bed was comfortable, there were all the expected amenities, including tea-making facilities, however, I was given exactly one tea bag, and it wasn't replaced on the second day. I found that funny. There was no air conditioning, which was not a problem in October, but I was wondering how it feels in the summer.
The location is central, but Interlaken is a small town, so everything is central. It's a 10-15 minute walk to Interlaken Ost station, which is convenient if you want to take the famous train to Jungfraujoch.
The hotel offers WiFi Internet access for a fee, though by Swiss standards it is not expensive: 3 franks for an hour.
The breakfast was somewhat disappointing, no hot food, though you could boil yourself an egg.
In summary, it was a nice stay, though I hoped for a better breakfast, and I think lack of air conditioning might be a problem in the summer.
