We travelled to Switzerland with a package from Kuoni. This package included flights, half board, transfers and a half price Swiss travel pass. The hotel is a ten minute bus ride from Interlaken Ost railway station and there is a delightful walk from the hotel alongside the water into Interlaken which took us 35 minutes. The hotel is great, the welcome you receive is warm and generous. Our room was a lake view with a balcony and looked down Lake Brienz. The room was large [room 112] and contained two singles placed together [both beds with the facility to raise head and feet] an armchair, settee, tv, mini bar together with ample storage and plenty of hangers. The bathroom was fitted with both bath and over bath shower. A hairdryer was provided, if tea/coffee facilities or an iron are required a simple request and they will be brought to your room. The breakfasts were typical continental with plenty of choice including cereals, fruit juices, cold meats, cheeses, several types of bread and crisp bread together with croissants and rolls. There was also yogurts together with either fresh fruit salad or sliced tinned peaches, dried apricots etc. Tea or coffee is served to your table. The evening meals started with soup or salad, then a small intermediate course such as flan or vegetable tempura. The mains course had an option to it, normally fish [fresh, filleted and delicious] together with a vegetarian option, all this was followed with a sweet. The food was delicious and if you have a special diet requirement. just let them know. The hotel also had a pizza bar together with massage facilities [although we didn't use these], a tv room/lounge and a small library with some games. Most residents spent the evening in the entrance lobby which is comfortably furnished with settees and arm chairs. The bus stop into Interlaken is a 100 meters away as is the lake boat landing. With the stay comes a "guest card" which entitles you to free bus and train services within the immediate Interlaken area, together with discounts at some of the castles around Lake Thun. This was our first visit and will not be our last, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location which is so easy to visit any of the mountain villages in the area.

This was our eleventh year of staying and we know that we are not the only guests who keep returning year after year - evidence that the Seiler au Lac is a truly wonderful hotel. It really would be difficult to find a Swiss hotel in a better location and to be so well looked after.
The hotel is family run and the attentive hosts and their staff make us feel very welcome. Service is very efficient in every way and yet, is delivered in a very discrete manner so that you don't feel "fussed over" - a factor that can be very irritating in some 4 and 5 star hotels. We know that anything we ask for will be done for us if at all possible. The rooms are kept very clean and are maintained to a high standard.
There are three restaurants within the hotel offering a excellent choice of dining. Most hotel guests staying on half board eat in a dining room specially reserved for them and we find the meals excellent, in terms of quality and being so well presented. Service is quite relaxed and friendly. A very substantial buffet breakfast is provided with plenty of choices.
Situated on the lakeside, this hotel has fantastic views over Lake Brienz from the rooms at the front and the three restaurants. There are good transport links with a bus stop outside and lake steamer opposite. Trips to nearby mountain resorts are therefore very straightforward. Bönigen has the benefit of being close to Interlaken yet offers more peace and tranquillity.
We hope to return to this wonderful hotel for many more years to come.

This family run hotel has a fantastic location on the shores of Lake Brienz. The owners, Erwin + Rosemary Zingg-Dinkel, and their son Stefan are helpful and attentive hosts.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurants are airy, the staff helpful and the food is delicious. We would have liked greater vegetarian selection.

The only flaw is the slow internet connectivity and if the hotel had wi-fi it would be perfect. But there is so much to do around Interlaken that you don't have time for surfing the net!

We have stayed at this hotel every summer for a number of years. It is outstanding in every respect. The location is second to none on the shores of Lake Brienz. The motto that you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend is certainly accurate. The staff are, without exception, extremely warm, friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and confortable. The mini suite that we stay in is an absolute delight and has outstanding bathroom facilities. The breakfast buffet has a huge variety of both continental and cooked breakfast items. Dinners have 5 courses with the addition this year of a salad buffet for one course. Vegetarian and other special diets are well catered for. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
