After reading the other tripadvisor reviews and finding out that this restaurant was within crawling distance to our hotel, we knew we needed to have dinner here. Who knew we would have here not once but twice! We were prepped for the prices of meals in Interlaken (Switzerland in general) but were pleased to find the 'backpackers' specials here. My husband ordered the special of the day on a weeknight - it came with soup, salad, main course (large portion of chicken and rice, Asian-style) and our server divided the dessert into 2 dishes so we could split! I ordered a ravioli dish that came in a bit too much olive oil for me but was very tasty anyways. Some of the entrees are offered in small and large portions. On the weekend night we went the special of the day was more expensive and did not come with a salad (fish fry). The food is rich with thick sauces, meats, etc so if you are looking for something in the healthier-side, this may not be the place for you.
The atmosphere is 1/2 quirky dining room and 1/2 game room. Both nights that we were there we sat near the pool table but never actually heard the people playing pool. Dogs are allowed in this restaurant so watch your feet! The servers were quite friendly and helped describe the specials menu that were not offered in English. The regular menu is in English and it's also posted outside the restaurant along with the 'backpackers' specials (that rotate per day). if you stick with the special menu and/or vegetarian selections, you will save money!
