We had a good stay at the Bodmi. The owners are very nice; not the sort of warm hotel owners who revel in the lives of their guests, but polite and briskly helpful. The restaurant was good and probably no more pricey than most in Switzerland. Breakfast was good.

Some people might consider the location of the Bodmi, ten minutes up a steep path above Grindelwald on the First cable car route, a disadvantage. We didn't have a car. Certainly once one gets back to the hotel for the night after a day of hiking, we found it hard to summon the motivation to trudge back down to the village, knowing we had to hike back up again in the dark.

We actually liked the location for its quiet. It's a personal choice. The hotel will make bag lunches, for a fee. Another hotel we stayed at did that at no charge.

We had booked a non-suite. They put us in a nice room that we assumed was not a suite, only to be told on checkout that it was. They were rattled by that but charged us the lower rate, as agreed.

My partner & I stayed here for 4 nights in Sept and wished it had been longer. This was our first visit to Switzerland and Grindlewald was simply stunning. We stayed in a room over looking the Eiger (worth the extra) which was extremely nice with a beautiful view. The hotel, as others say, is a little way up the valley side and so it a hard 15 minute climb from the town. We were happy with this but it would n't suit those who are less energetic or capable. The food was excellent and Kurt/Elizabeth were able to help enormously with suggested things to do and arranging travel etc. All in all it was a tremendous place to stay and well worth its tripadviser billing. We will certainly be back.

Hotel Bodmi was wonderful. Kurt and Elisabeth are very kind and full of helpful information. They take extra time to make guests feel welcome and to get to know them. The hotel is clean, the rooms are large with incredible views and the food is wonderful. The restaurant staff is also kind and welcoming. The hotel is located 10 or so minutes from town - uphill - but it is worth the walk. (there is also a bus available). There is a hotel car that can bring you to and from the bus/train station with your luggage. All and all one of the best hotels we have visited!


We would stay here again and again and again!

Our stay at Bodmi was "a no problem" stay, even having some rain. The room very good size for the family, and the view is something special. Very nice food.

The Bodmi family made all of us being home although the kilometres again.

Now that we have seen it in summer, we want to return in winter.

Really getting to know Grindelwald, and for sure stopping in hotel Bodmi, it has been a very good way of spending our holidays.
